The Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) invites South African students to apply for their Bursary Programme for the 2025 academic year. This bursary is aimed at students pursuing qualifications in Chartered Accountancy and offers comprehensive financial support.

Fields of Study
Bursaries will be awarded for Chartered Accountancy studies, specifically the following qualifications:
- BCom Accounting (CA stream)
- Bachelor of Accounting (CA stream)
- BCompt
Bursary Coverage
The bursary will cover the following expenses:
- Tuition fees
- University accommodation
- Meals
- Books
After completing their studies, bursary recipients will be required to partake in training with AGSA or serve articles.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:
General Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be studying or intend to study full-time towards one of the Chartered Accountancy qualifications listed.
- Must be studying or intend to study at a SAICA-accredited university.
Specific Requirements by Study Level
Matric Students (applying for 1st-year studies in 2025):
- Matric exemption with university entrance.
- Minimum of 60% in Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy).
- Minimum of 60% in English.
- Must be entering 1st-year studies in 2025.
1st-year Students (applying for 2nd-year studies in 2025):
- Minimum of 60% in Financial Accounting.
- Minimum of 60% in Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) and English in Matric.
- Must be entering 2nd-year studies in 2025.
2nd-year Students (applying for 3rd-year studies in 2025):
- Minimum of 60% in Financial Accounting and Management Accounting.
- Must be entering 3rd-year studies in 2025.
Final-year Students (applying for postgraduate studies in 2025):
- Minimum of 55% in all core modules.
- Must have achieved acceptance into the CTA programme.
- Must be entering postgraduate studies in 2025.
