Canyon Coal is offering bursaries to South African students for the 2025 academic year. These bursaries are aimed at students pursuing qualifications in mining-related fields, covering full tuition, accommodation, and book allowances.

Fields of Study:
Bursaries will be awarded in the following fields:
- Accounting
- Environmental Science
- Human Resources
- Mining Engineering
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify, applicants must meet these minimum requirements:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Be studying or intend to study towards a qualification in one of the listed fields for the 2025 academic year
- Be studying or have provisional acceptance at a South African university
- Have an interest in joining the Mining Industry
- Have achieved a minimum overall average of 65% for all major subjects (if already studying)
Preference will be given to:
- Previously disadvantaged students residing within the Msukaligwa Local Municipality (Mpumalanga)
- Students in financial need
- Students studying or applying to local tertiary institutions
- Female students and students with disabilities

- Submit the following supporting documents (certified copies are required):
- ID document
- Matric latest results/certificate
- Tertiary academic records (if applicable)
- Proof of registration or application to a university and fee statement
- Parents, guardians, or spouse’s ID documents
- Parents, guardians, or spouse’s proof of income (payslip, letter from employer, balance sheet, or affidavit)
- Motivational letter explaining your academic ability, financial need, and future career plans
- Proof of residence
