The South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) is offering scholarships to South African students entering high school (Grade 8 to Grade 12) for the 2025 academic year. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic merit and financial need, as well as SANRAL’s Bursary Policy.

Scholarship Benefits:
The scholarship will cover the following, where applicable:
- Registration fees
- School fees and boarding school fees
- School and sports uniforms
- Books and stationery
- Reputable school transport
- Extra lessons for Mathematics and Science
The tuition fees will be paid directly to the school, while other expenses will be reimbursed to the parent or guardian upon submission of valid proofs of payment.
Additional benefits include:
- Learner support to prepare for academic success
- Holistic support, such as career guidance and psychological counselling
- Career coaching, extra classes, and exam preparation based on individual needs
Eligibility Requirements:
To qualify for the SANRAL Scholarship Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Enter high school (Grade 8 to Grade 12) in 2025
- Be registered to study at an endorsed South African high school
- Achieve a minimum overall average of 60%
- Have a strong academic record
- Have a household income of less than R550 000 per annum

Supporting Documentation (compulsory):
- Certified copy of ID document or birth certificate
- Certified copy of June 2024 academic results
- Motivational letter (2 pages) written by the applicant, explaining why you deserve the scholarship and details about yourself
- Motivational letter from your school principal supporting your application
- Motivational letter from your parents or guardians
- Certified copies of parents’ or guardians’ ID documents
- Certified copies of parents’ or guardians’ proof of income (recent payslips, affidavit if unemployed or self-employed)
- Proof of residence (recent water and electricity bill from the local council)
