The South African National Seed Organization (SANSOR) is inviting South African students to apply for bursaries for the 2025 academic year. These bursaries are aimed at postgraduate students (Honours, Masters, or Doctorate) who are conducting scientific research in the seed industry.

Fields of Study:
Bursaries will be awarded for postgraduate studies in the following areas:
- Agronomy
- Biotechnology
- Entomology
- Genetics
- Horticulture
- Molecular Plant Biology
- Pasture Science
- Plant Breeding
- Plant Pathology
- Plant Physiology
Bursary Benefits:
- Bursaries are awarded for one year and may be renewed based on academic performance.
- Funding is paid directly to the university in two instalments.
- Bursary recipients will have access to:
- Employment skills workshops
- Field trips to seed companies
- Networking opportunities with industry professionals
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen (by birth)
- Have completed an undergraduate degree
- Be registered for a postgraduate degree (Honours, Masters, or Doctorate) within the seed industry for 2025
- Be registered at a recognised tertiary institution in South Africa
- Your research must support SANSOR’s vision and mission in relation to the seed industry
- You must not be receiving any other government funding
