Tongaat Hulett is offering bursaries to South African students for the 2025 academic year to pursue a 3-year Diploma in Agriculture, specializing in Plant Production, Animal Production, or Agro-Processing. A total of 10 bursaries will be awarded.

Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria to be considered:
- Must reside within Tongaat Hulett catchment areas or communities linked to the company through the Land Reform process.
- Must have completed Matric.
- Must have achieved a minimum of 24 points in the NSC.
- Must have achieved a minimum of level 4 (50-59%) for English in Matric.
- Must have achieved a minimum of level 3 (40-49%) for Core Mathematics or level 6 (70-79%) for Mathematics Literacy in Matric.
- Must have achieved a minimum of level 4 (50-59%) for Geography, Life Science, and Physical Science in Matric.
- Must have achieved a minimum of level 4 (50-59%) for Agricultural Science in Matric.
- Must have achieved a minimum of level 4 (50-59%) for Life Orientation (calculated as half).
- Must have applied to study towards a Diploma in Agriculture at Owen Sithole College of Agriculture or Cedara College of Agriculture.

- Certified copy of your ID document
- Certified copy of your Matric certificate
- Certified copy of your latest results, if currently studying
- Certified copies of your parents’ or guardians’ proof of household income (latest payslips, affidavit and UIF card if unemployed, or pension statement if applicable)
- Certified copy of your parents’ or guardians’ death certificate if deceased
- A motivational letter answering these questions:
- What made you want to study towards a Diploma in Agriculture?
- Why did you choose this Diploma course?
- What steps did you take to make your decision?
- What helped shape your final decision?
- What do you think you will enjoy about your chosen field, and what areas might you find challenging?
Shortlisted candidates will be required to write an assessment test and attend interviews before the end of the 2024 academic year.
