City of Johannesburg: Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) Vacancies

The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) Health Department is offering job opportunities under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). These positions are for a period of 12 months and are available in multiple regions (A, B, C, D, E, F, and G) within Johannesburg. Unemployed individuals are invited to apply for various roles at health facilities.

Available Job Opportunities:

1. Data Capturers
   • Capture and update clients’ records
   • Compile monthly statistics on clinic clients
   • File client cards and retrieve them when requested
   • Schedule appointments for clinic services
   • Coordinate the ordering of stationery and clinic records
   • Record and type minutes from meetings
2. Queue Marshals
   • Welcome and assist clinic patients and visitors
   • Manage and direct patient flow in clinics
   • Screen patients in waiting areas
   • Handle patient inquiries and helpdesk tasks
   • Ensure smooth management of queues
3. General Workers
   • Clean waiting areas, consulting rooms, kitchens, laundries, and more
   • Maintain cleanliness in clinic procedure areas
   • Sort and change soiled linen
   • Empty dustbins and keep clinic surroundings litter-free

Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate
• Youth (ages 18 and older preferred)
• Knowledge of the City’s processes, best practices, and policies on health and social issues
• Proficient in the use of electronic devices (e.g., sending emails, internet use)
