Job Purpose
The primary objective of this position is to assist in the operation of landfill sites or transfer stations by ensuring cleanliness, inspecting incoming waste, directing vehicles to designated offloading areas, and maintaining offices and infrastructure.
Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Basic Literacy: Ability to read and write.
- Experience: Related experience in waste management is advantageous.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to perform physical work for continuous periods in hard conditions.
- Work Schedule: Expected to work shift hours as determined by management.

Primary Responsibilities
As a General Worker, your duties will include:
- Site Compliance: Ensuring that landfill or garden sites comply with permit conditions and are kept clean.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining offices, site infrastructure, and equipment.
- Road Maintenance: Keeping access roads clean from windblown litter and debris.
- Storm Water Management: Ensuring storm water channels and trenches are not blocked and are kept clean.
- Weed Control: Cleaning and removing weeds as required.
- Waste Inspection: Inspecting incoming vehicles to ensure authorized waste is transported on-site.
- Vehicle Direction: Directing incoming vehicles to dump at designated areas.
- Incident Reporting: Reporting incidents and non-compliance to the immediate supervisor.
- Safety Adherence: Always adhering to occupational health and safety regulations.
