The Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development is recruiting 2,500 unemployed youth participants for the National Youth Service (NYS) Programme for the 2025 – 2027 financial year. This initiative aims to empower young individuals through work experience in various sectors.

Requirements for the NYS Programme
To qualify for the NYS positions, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Age: Between 18 to 33 years (participants must be below the age of 35 for the duration of the 24-month contract).
- Educational Qualification: Must have passed Grade 10 or above.
- Identity Document: A valid South African Identity Document is required.
- Availability: Must be available for the duration of the programme and prepared to sign a contract.
- Residency: Applicants must reside in one of the five corridors (regions) of Gauteng Province:
- City of Johannesburg
- City of Tshwane
- City of Ekurhuleni
- Sedibeng
- West Rand Districts
- Proximity to Project Site: Must reside in the vicinity of the project site.
- Criminal Record: Must have no criminal record.

Stipend and Contract Details
Successful candidates will receive a stipend of R3500 per month for a duration of 24 months. Please note that contracts will not be extended beyond this period.
