The South African Revenue Service (SARS) is offering an exciting short-term opportunity for 40 Auditor Level 1 candidates on a three-month contract in Limpopo, North-West, and Mpumalanga.
This role provides a chance to enhance your auditing skills while contributing to SARS’ operations and ensuring compliance within the tax system.
Contract Duration: 3 months
Location: Limpopo, North-West, Mpumalanga
Closing Date: 20 February 2025
Purpose
Selected candidates will conduct standard limited scope audits or verifications based on risk profiling to ensure compliance with SARS regulations and tax laws.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience Required
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
Option 1:
- Qualification: National Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, or Auditing (NQF6).
- Experience: At least three years in Auditing/Finance with at least one year at a knowledge worker level.
Option 2:
- Qualification: Senior Certificate (NQF4).
- Experience: Six years in Auditing/Finance with at least one year at a knowledge worker level.
Key Responsibilities

- Conduct limited scope audits for tax compliance.
- Apply relevant legislation and procedures during audit activities.
- Plan work efficiently to meet targets.
- Identify potential risks and escalate violations as needed.
- Prepare reports with actionable recommendations.
- Engage productively with team members and stakeholders.

- Technical competencies involve financial accounting, operational audit skills.
