Job Overview
The Trainee Miller will assist in supervising milling operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with safety and food quality standards. This role involves on-the-job training and is ideal for someone keen on developing a career in the milling industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise milling activities and train employees in safety procedures.
- Compile mill grist and control product quality parameters.
- Assist in milling and packaging planning.
- Monitor wheat intake and milling processes.
- Manage raw material and finished stock levels.
- Optimize milling machinery and equipment for peak performance.
- Ensure safety, health, hygiene, and pest control compliance.
- Conduct Gemba walks to improve efficiency.
- Work shifts, including public holidays.
- Assist with flour testing and plant operations.
- Support mill maintenance activities.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Food Safety background is advantageous.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Health and Safety knowledge is beneficial.
- Willingness to learn and pursue SAGMA (South African Grain Milling Academy) training.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
