AFGRI is offering an exciting 3-year Apprenticeship Programme at various branches across South Africa. This program is designed for dynamic, self-motivated individuals with technical abilities who are eager to qualify as Artisans.
The apprenticeship focuses on developing skills in the field of Tractor or Earthmoving Mechanics through mentorship, informal training, and on-the-job development in multidisciplinary teams.

Programme Details:
- Duration: 3 years (including a 6-month probation period)
- Training Components:
- Practical Training at a dedicated institute.
- Distance learning for relevant N subjects (attending Saturday classes may be required).
- Product Training at John Deere Training Facility in Boksburg and other supplier locations.
- Internal training hosted by AFGRI Specialists.
- Work-Back Period: After completing the apprenticeship, there is an expected work-back period equivalent to the time taken to qualify. Withdrawal during the apprenticeship or work-back period may incur costs.
Responsibilities:
- Train as a Mechanic/Technician
- Repair and maintain related equipment
- Manage stock control
- Provide customer service
- Perform general workplace duties
Minimum Requirements:
- Education:
- N2 subjects: Mathematics, Engineering Science, Diesel Trade Theory, plus one of the following: Industrial Electronics, Engineering/Technical Drawing, or Motor Trade Theory.
- Matric Certificate: Considered if subjects include Mathematics (not Literacy), Technical Mathematics (not Literacy), Physical Science, Technical Science, or Engineering Graphics and Design.
