Minimum Requirements
- Senior certificate, MBCHB or equivalent Degree (independent practice); valid registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Independent Medical Practitioner.
- Current registration with HPCSA (2026/2027).
- Grade 1: None after registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in respect of South African qualified employees.
- One-year relevant experience after registration as a Medical Practitioner with recognized foreign health professional council in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform community service, as required in South Africa.
- Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years after registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in respect of South African qualified employees, Minimum of 6 years relevant experience after registration as a Medical Practitioner with a recognized foreign Health professional council in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform community service as required in South Africa.
- Grade 3: Minimum of 10 years after registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in respect of South African qualified employees.
- Minimum of 11 years relevant experience after registration as a Medical Practitioner with a recognized foreign health professional council in respect of foreign qualified employees of whom it is not required to perform community service, as required in South Africa.
- Knowledge and Skills: Courteous towards patients; good customer or patient care; time management.
Responsibilities
- Rendering clinical services and be responsible for service delivery within the facility.
- To fulfil the administrative, academic and research requirements in the hospital.
- Render outreach and support service to other levels of care.
- Provide a holistic patient care, inclusive of preventive measures, treatment and rehabilitation.
- Ensuring correct patient management through the implementation of quality standards, practice and treatment protocols.
- Ensuring developments, maintenance and updating of clinical procedures.
- Ensuring effective utilization of all resources in the clinical field within the sphere of functioning.
- Provide medical services at the department where you will be allocated.
- Clinical responsibilities including examine, investigate, diagnose and oversee the treatment of patients in the relevant department.
- Provide guidance, training evaluation and mentorship of junior medical staff.
- Participate in community health programs.
- Assist in the evaluation of existing standards and effectiveness of health care.
- Adhere to departmental treatment guidelines and policy.
- Deal with emotion, social and physical aspects of diseases for patients and their relatives.
