Artisan Foreman Grade A: Fitter & Plumber

Minimum Requirements
- Senior Certificate, plus appropriate trade test certificate as recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Artisan.
- A completed apprenticeship and proof of passing a trades test in terms of the provisions of section 13(2)(h) of the Manpower Training Act,1981, as amended, or a certificate issued under the provisions of the repealed section 27 of the Act referred. knowledge and skills: Knowledge of Public Service legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent time management.
- Written and verbal communication skills and report.
- Good interpersonal skills with colleagues and other departments.
- Honesty, integrity, and high work ethics.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to read floor plans and schematic drawings.
- Steam reticulation maintenance.
- Steam boilers.
- Autoclave repair and maintenance.
- Fault-finding in general.
- Inspection of equipment according to set standards.
- Keep and maintain job cards and other registers.
- Maintain agreement with the development plan.
- Conversant with the OHS Act and regulations.
- Knowledge of generators and pumps.
- Application knowledge of generators, medium voltage substations & switch gears, ISOLOCS, PLC.
- Single-phase Wireman’s license.
- Installation electrician.
Responsibilities
- Supervision and monitoring of completion of job requests (H24).
- Attend to job requests in respect of physical repair and maintenance, including preventative maintenance of medical and operational equipment.
- Perform administrative functions.
- Supervision of staff.
