Assistant Director: Financial Accounting

Minimum Requirements

  • An appropriate 3-year B-Degree in Financial Management at NQF level 7 (equivalent or higher); A minimum of 3 years relevant supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of the following: Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), National Treasury Regulations and Provincial Treasury Instructions
  • Public Service Act, 1994, as amended
  • Basic Conditions of Employment Act
  • Relevant systems (Basic Accounting System and Logistical Information System).
  • Skills needed: Written and verbal communication
  • Proven computer literacy
  • Numeracy and literacy
  • Project management
  • Accounting, finance and audit.

Responsibilities

  • Collection and recording of revenue: Cashier, banking service and electronic payments
  • Debt management
  • Monitoring and reporting on revenue
  • Expenditure management: Compensation of employees
  • Goods and services
  • Transfers and subsidies
  • Reporting
  • Supervise employees to ensure an effective financial accounting service.
