The Department of Science and Innovation-National Youth Service (DSI-NYS) is inviting applications for its programme aimed at providing unemployed graduates with practical work experience.
This initiative is part of the broader National Youth Service Programme (NYS) and is managed by the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement under the National Research Foundation.

Programme Overview
The DSI-NYS programme offers unemployed graduates under the age of 35 the opportunity to work in partner institutions for a period of 12 months. Participants will receive monthly stipends to cover their basic needs while gaining valuable experience in their fields.
Eligibility Criteria
- Qualifications: A relevant tertiary qualification in fields such as:
- Science or Technology
- Journalism and Media Studies
- Communications
- Skills:
- Computer literacy.
- Self-motivation and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Writing and/or radio and television skills.
- Good analytical and interpersonal skills.
