The Govan Mbeki Municipality is offering an exciting opportunity for unemployed graduates to gain practical work experience in municipal finance through its Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP).
This initiative aims to develop and strengthen financial skills within municipalities, particularly in line with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA).
Successful candidates will be placed in the Budget and Treasury Office and rotate through other relevant departments to gain comprehensive financial management experience. The programme includes mentorship, hands-on training, and a stipend.

Who Can Apply?
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizens with a valid ID.
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in one of the following fields:
- Accounting
- Economics
- Management Accounting
- Auditing
- Unemployed and eager to gain practical experience.
- Must not have participated in any previous government internship programme.
