Purpose
The program aims to leverage the skills of forward-thinking graduates to drive positive change and help clients manage their money better through behavioural science.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the Behavioural Economics unit within Nedbank Retail and Business Banking in designing and executing money management solutions.
- Conduct research and design behavioural interventions, including business experiments to measure the impact on client behaviours.
- Perform literature reviews on existing behavioural science evidence related to financial decision-making.
- Effectively communicate research findings to business units.
- Provide training on behavioural insights relevant to various business units.
- Manage knowledge curation of research through an online library and internal newsletter.
- Deliver quality and original research to meet client needs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients through ongoing engagement.
- Participate in Nedbank culture-building initiatives to support transformation goals.
- Manage research databases and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in consultation with the Compliance Division.
- Engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders to position the Behavioural Economics Unit as a valued partner.
- Build vendor relationships by understanding business needs.
- Monitor performance by aligning contributions with departmental goals.
- Share knowledge and industry trends with team members and stakeholders.
- Review Nedbank’s Business Unit Plan to ensure alignment with business strategy, objectives, and values.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates should have:
- A Master’s Degree in economics, psychology, anthropology, or social sciences. (Note: Psychology students wishing to register with the HPCSA will need a tailored program.)
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be 18 years or older.
- Have a passion for behavioural economics and behavioural science.
- Possess a background in research.
- Have a clear criminal and credit record.
