The Eastern Cape Department of Sports, Recreation, Arts & Culture invites unemployed youth to apply for their EPWP Work Experience Vacancies. This opportunity is aimed at providing valuable work experience while contributing to community development.

- Contract Type: One (1) year fixed-term contract
- Stipend: R3500 per month
Requirements
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A recognized National Senior Certificate (Matric) or NQF Level 4 equivalent qualification.
- Understanding of EPWP: Basic understanding of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) and its relationship with national, provincial, and local government.
- Skills:
- Basic organization and coordination skills.
- Stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of local community structures related to arts, culture, libraries, sports, and recreation.
- Basic communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Employment Status: Must be presently unemployed.
- Residency Requirement: Must live within a 5 km radius of any DSRAC service center (including libraries, museums, art centers, hubs, cluster clubs, or schools).
- Age Requirement: Must be between 18 – 35 years old.
- Training Willingness: Must be prepared to undergo training.
Duties
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Supporting the facilitation of department programs at ward level.
- Collaborating with other sector departments in an integrated manner.
- Implementing sports, arts, heritage, and cultural activities at ward levels in art centers, schools, and community hubs.
- Mobilizing schools and youth to participate in various programs and events.
- Maintaining relationships with local community organizations and youth groups.
