Quality Controller

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Formal or practical knowledge of HACCP principles and FSSC 22000 (or similar GFSI-recognized food safety systems).
  • Food Technologist Qualification will be an added advantage
  • Strong product and process knowledge (or ability to learn quickly)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • High attention to detail with risk identification ability
  • Strong leadership, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with integrity and sound judgement
  • Reliable, accountable, and professional
  • Team player with the ability to influence and support others
  • Proactive, solution-driven, and improvement-focused
  • Able to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Oversee product quality through Work in Progress (WIP) inspections, raw material verification, and final product release.
  • Monitor and enforce GMP, hygiene standards, HACCP controls, and Critical Control Points (CCPs).
  • Manage food safety systems including temperature control, foreign object prevention, and glass & hard plastic programmes.
  • Conduct factory inspections, environmental monitoring, and sanitation verification.
  • Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and food safety incidents, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate quality documentation and calibration of equipment.
  • Support audits (internal, external, and customer) and ensure compliance readiness.
  • Provide on-floor guidance, coaching, and support to production teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement and promote a strong food safety culture.
